Acetate

Abbreviation AC, fiber made of cellulose acetate (between 74% and 92% of the hydroxyl groups are acetylated).

Acrylic

Abbreviation PC, a synthetic fiber produced from acrylonitrile, a monomer which is at least 85% of the repeat units in the polymer chain.

Aida cloth

An open weave, even-weave fabric traditionally used for cross-stitch embroidery. This cotton fabric has a natural mesh that facilitates cross-stitching and enough natural stiffness that the crafter does not need to use an embroidery hoop.

Alcantara

Synthetic material that imitates the deerskin

Alpaca

Abbreviation WP; Alpaca fleece is a lustrous and silky natural fiber. While similar to sheep's wool, it is warmer, not prickly, and bears no lanolin, which makes it hypoallergenic.

Angora

Abbreviation WA, yarn made of the hair of the Angora rabbit, very soft and fluffy.

Anti-crease fabrics

These fabrics do not require ironing after washing. They are obtained through special procedures.

Artificial leather

It's a fabric that has the appearance of leather but it's made of plastic material or it's a fabric coated with a plastic material.
